The International Accreditation Agency (IAA) is an independent and ‘not-for-profit’ agency (Company Limited by Guarantee) which is funded through fees charged for its accreditation services to Certification Bodies and Training Organisations. In 2009, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry approved use of the word 'Agency' in our new corporate title (The International Accreditation Agency Limited) in recognition of our international accreditation status.

The IAA employs its own independent accreditation framework and also promotes the mutual recognition of accreditation agencies for the benefit of worldwide ISO certification, recognition and continued development of International Standards.

The IAA firmly believes that its approach encourages the proliferation of harmonised standards resulting in increased international trade, commerce and employment.

Certification Bodies that share this philosophy are invited to gain membership of the IAA.
